UVGI System on AHU Cooling Coil
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) systems can be installed in air handling units (AHUs) to disinfect cooling coils and prevent microbial growth on their surfaces:
Disinfecting coils
UVGI can sterilize the front face of cooling coils after two weeks of operation.
Preventing microbial growth
UVGI systems installed downstream of the cooling coil can irradiate the discharge side of the coil and drain pan to prevent microbial growth.

Two models LUVI Pure and LUVI Puratax with UVC lamps of 24W and 4 spectively creates a powerful UV zone for air disinfection. The UVC tight wit avelength of 254 nm generated by thliimpdisinfects the ambient air. The silent fan throws the disinfected air continuously when the system is running. The air Inside the room passes through the high output UV zone and the activated PCO zone created inside the system. The air coming out of the system Is thus disinfected. The PCO zone created inside the system works continuously towards reduction in VOCs resulting in to odor free air. At the same time it also works on reducing the Particulate matter PM 2.5 and PM 10 giving the continuous IAQ improvement.
UVGI is commonly used in hospitals, laboratories, and other settings where sterilization is crucial. It is a non-chemical approach to disinfection that does not produce any harmful byproducts, making it a safe and efficient solution. UVGI is an essential technology that is crucial in promoting public health and safety, particularly in environments where cleanliness and hygiene are critical.
UVC light installations — like those offered at Donnelly — can be used in HVAC systems in two ways: disinfecting the in-duct airstream and disinfecting the surfaces of air handler components.
